FERGUSON FTURN02 TURNTABLE RECORD PLAYER DECK - DIRECT ENCODING Would make a super Xmas Gift!! This is a semi-automatic deck. ‘Semi-automatic’ means that you manually place the tone arm on the record (which then automatically starts rotating) and the deck returns it at the end of the record and then switches off. These record decks are multi-function: 1 It can operate like a standard record deck. It has a built-in pre-amp so it can even connect to amplifiers without a ‘phono’ input. 2 It can convert records into digital files which are then stored/downloaded onto either a standard Memory Stick/Flash/Pen/Thumb Drive OR an SD card, plugged directly into the deck. From there, you can easily transfer/copy them to your computer (but you don’t need a computer for the original digitisation!). If you were to record onto a micro SD card (in a ‘standard SD’ adapter), you could then play the results directly through a phone, MP3 Player, etc. Although this record deck has 45 & 33rpm speeds but not a 78rpm speed, if you were to digitise a 78rpm record using the 45rpm deck speed, once digitised it is easy to convert the digital track to 78rpm using ‘Audacity’ (free download), or similar software. 3 You can play back your digitised/recorded music (MP3/WAV) etc., through the Ferguson deck (into your amplifier) – in effect you can use it just like an MP3 player – and a pretty sophisticated one at that, since you can also choose from: a) Use of “Repeat Play” – whereby it will repeat a track (file), whole disc OR a whole folder! b) Use of “Intro Play” – whereby it will “introduce all songs by playing 10 seconds of each track”! c) Use of “Random Play” – pretty obvious, right? d) Use of “Program Play” – whereby you can “program up to 32 tracks (files) to play in any order, including repeating tracks”! It comes complete with cartridge/stylus, instruction manual, clear/hinged dust cover, 45rpm adapter & “captive” (built-in) mains and audio cables. As can be seen from the photos, apart from some very minor usage marks to the top of the acrylic dust cover, this deck is in virtually “as new” condition.
