Eight framed prints by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe taken probably in the 1890's in Whitby Yorkshire printed and published by the Sutcliffe Gallery. Three are A4 prints in a 34mm x 27mm frames, Five are 6" x 4 1/2" prints in 21.5mm x 18mm frames. The Sutcliffe Gallery are the sole publishers of the beautiful photographs taken by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe between 1875 and 1910 in and around Whitby. In his day Frank Sutcliffe was one of the most famous photographers in the World. He was awarded around sixty gold, silver and bronze medals at exhibitions in Paris, New York, Berlin, Vienna, Calcutta and Tokyo to name just a few! To this day, Sutcliffe's images of Whitby are acknowledged as being some of the finest examples of Victorian photography. He was one of the first photographers to create 'art' from his images.
