Three hand painted bottles from Australia, offered at £5 each. There's a story to tell, read on.... About 1999 my wife and I were at a wedding in Brisbane. During the stay we were taken to a touristy location in the countryside called Tambourine Mountain. Amongst several homespun shanty shops was a boutique distillery. We engaged in conversation with a lady who turned out to be the owner. The shop was full of bottles like the ones in my photos. It transpired she had to have the full certification for distilling and selling alcohol as the large scale commercial distillery in the valley. She fermented local fruits and made her own liquers and painted the bottles herself. We bought some Lemon Myrtle - delicious!! She told us that in the previous year just before Christmas they had had a viisit from a German Male Voice Choir who were keen on tasting her schnapps. Well the schnapps flowed and so did the singing, a veritable concert no less! And not much stock left either! So if you are visiting Brisbane be sure to visit theboutique distillery on Tambourine Mountain. (hic)
