A GOLD COLOURED VINTAGE CARMON HAIR DRYER MANUFACTURED BY CARRINGTON MONK & CO , BIRMINGHAM This is the sort of thing you used to see in ladies hairdressers in the 1950's. This model is portable, in that it is on a base that can be wheeled around. The original Hot, Cold Warm Off control switch which the lady having her shampoo and set kept beside her to control the temperature still works and the unit heats up and cools down according to where the switch is located. Considering its age it is in good condition thought there are a few scratches on the hood and paint missing on the base. It is 140 cm approx high and 30 cm approx deep. The height is adjustable. It comes apart in 2 sections but it quite heavy and is not suitable for posting so must be collected. I imagine this will go to somebody who wants it for decorative purposes and I have seen them made into trendy lamps on the TV makeover programms.
