Description by some-one who describes it very well: "Return to the Source. Ambient Meditations2 was mixed by Dr Alex of The Orb and beautifully blends a quirky variety of oft-overlooked artists. The eleven tracks date from the turn of the century and feature just about the best ambient/trance music of the time, as found at The Source in London. As the title suggests, this compilation is at the softer end of the trance spectrum. Ambient Meditations2 is one of those albums which is best listened to in its entirety and not in snippets as single tracks. It's a planned progression of tightly woven drums, strings, pipes and electronic beats, with distant voices and swirling vocals that build to an almighty climax and then recede like foaming waves on rocky shores, tumbling into eternity. Listen to it a few times and it'll stay with your forever. Different segments feature a cascade of echoing chants which interlink with a satisfying sequence of electronic chimes. Cat Von Trapp's soaring vocal on 'Human Contact' is astonishing, and contrasts stunningly with the track's tribal chants. The waterworks on 'Crossing the Channel' tend to stimulate an inevitable natural process, mind... but the final track, 'Avalon' is simply superb; a pure melody mixed with a primal pulse".
