This is a manual (pump action hoist) when combined with a sling it can lift a person safely off the floor after a fall, move from bed to chair or wheeled chair. Recommend it be used in consultation with carer and/or Occupational Therapist. Will need to be used with a sling suitable for the size of the person you are lifting. This is crucial if you are doing a lot of manual handling and dont have the physical strength and want to avoid the risk of damaging back, arms etc in caring, but when falls and difficulties are not yet frequent enough to warrant the daily charge of an electrical powered hoist. Formerly used for my late father. The health authority don't want it back and charities aren't allowed to take it- but still works perfectly.
