The cold frame enables you to raise seedlings early and to protect young plants against pests, high winds and frost. The cold frame measures 117 cm deep x 400 cm wide x 60 cm high ( not including legs) The legs of the cold frame are designed to be sunk into soft earth, so the frame sits just on the ground. The lid is raiseable and secured raised with wing nut screws. The legs provide stability in high winds. To deter slugs and snails I sat the frame on a sheet of ply cut to fit between the legs, but a bed of deepish gravel will also deter them.
