Like many old computer hardware the plastic has yellowed. The printer is fully functional and the fold-out support flap in the output tray is intact. The left bracket attaching the paper tray front panel to the tray itself is broken, causing the left side of the paper tray to stick out a fraction, however this does not affect the operation of the printer and it can easily be fixed with super glue. The left hand catch on the front door has snapped off, however the door stay up (shut) fine during normal use and it does not affect the printing process. The scanner glass plate is in very good condition, with only one minute mark in the top right hand corner. I've attempted to capture it in a photo, the mark is indicated by the red circle. Note to Linux users: - the printer is fully supported by Brother's own CUPS driver (check your distro's repos or download from Brother's website) - the scanner is fully supported by Brother's own SANE backend (check your distro's repos or download from Brother's website), as well as directly by VueScan (no separate driver required) A power cable and USB cable are included.
