There is a picture viewer, sound system, graphics editor equivalent to Photoshop, and a choice of a further 50,000 free software programs you can download and install through the built in software manager. The installed version is for long term support to 2021. After that time there will be another Linux version you'll be able to install for free. I've been using Linux for about 7 years and find it excellent. If you encounter problems first class free support is available from the Linux Mint website, forum, and other users who will be very pleased to help. Don't be concerned that it's not Windows. And it is a secure system. You can install Clam Anti Virus for free and this will guard against you unknowingly sending Windows viruses to Windows users.
