Double Bed and Memory Foam Mattress

Hi, I have an Ikea Double Bed base, about 5 years old in very good condition with a 6 month old Memory Foam and spring mattress, also in very good condition. The mattress is an Ortho grade but still too soft for me so I've had to get a new one. The base is in one piece and doesn't break down into smaller sections.

Hi, is the base wood, metal or other? I'm assuming would need a van to collect if the base doesn't dismantle?
