Fisher Price record player ... non working

This is an original Fisher Price record player, which was well used by my children in the late 70's (and it was second hand then ... couldn't afford new toys! ;) ) It is in good overall condition, and has a full set of records, BUT it plays very, very slowly. I understand that a new spring mechanism can be obtained, but it is beyond our 'engineering' capabilities to repair it for our grandson. Therefore we would like it to go to a family who would refurbish it for their little ones, rather than someone who will do so to make a profit from it (these are very desirable!) We would love it to give as much pleasure to other children as it did to ours.
