Raggedy old clothes
This item is in Watford GB

All the details
I have an attic with bags of old clothes in very POOR CONDITION. i.e. clothes with paint stains, which have bobbles, were dyed by mistake in the wash, faded, holes from scissors accidentally cutting them... You get the picture. The reason I have kept them is that I could not in good conscience throw them in the bin. Ten years ago I visited Zimbabwe and saw 'street-children' sleeping on the streets in torn rags. As the years passed, when an item of children's clothing has become too small, I have done the following; if it is in 'nice' condition, I would pass it on to a cousin, friend or charity shop. If it is in poor condition I would put it in a vacuum bag in the attic to pass onto the street children. I know charity shops have a minimum standard for resellable clothing, but I could not in good conscience allow clothes with some wear in them to go to landfill, when there are children in rags. Literally in rags. Financially I have not been able to afford to visit again to donate the clothes to an orphanage there or been able to ship over a container of clothing, I have been told it would cost over £1000 to do so. I know on Freelywheely you can not dictate what happens to items but if anyone is able to take these clothes, knowing they are for the benefit of orphans and people in deep poverty, please let me know.
