Vintage long stool in solid wood with upholstered (needs replacing) top

Vintage (50's-60's) long stool in solid wood with some carving (please see photos). I think probably handmade by my grandfather. Has upholstered cushion on the top but the stuffing (possibly was foam) has perished and would need replacing. Would made a good restoration project. Dimensions: 1.18m long x 0.31m deep x 0.38m tall.
