Removal of item when sale is 'Finished'

Really frustrating to scroll down items listed only to discover sale has finished. I guess it is up to the person listing the item to remove the ad once the item has gone. PRETTY PLEASE - Thank you!

Items are not for sale but are posted to give away free. They remain on the site as "available" for up to 7 days. Those who are giving stuff away can end their items early or leave them on for the full period. Whatever choice is made the giver can select the taker based on the request that is made. All items posted are shown on the site. . If you are not logged in you will see all the items from anywhere in the world. However, when logged in you can select your search radius from your base and then you see the items, if there are any, in your preferred search zone and make a request for them. Most items that are posted appear on the same day. Posting are monitored to try and reduce spammers.
